EduNeering Introduces Interactive Enrollee Education Solution for Healthcare Companies
Internet-enabled solution expands health plan service to enrollees
July 20, 2006 - Princeton, New Jersey - EduNeering, a leading provider of knowledge solutions to improve corporate compliance and business performance, has introduced a knowledge solution to assist health plans better educate their enrollees on knowledge and strategies about their medical conditions, treatment regimes and plan benefits.
"Nearly half of U.S. adults are unable to comprehend and apply the often-complex information they need to effectively manage their own health," said Michael D. Bell, Esq., Senior Vice President and EduNeering's Healthcare Practice Leader. "That troubling statistic exists despite the massive commitment of resources by the healthcare industry to enrollee service and education. EduNeering's new initiative distinguishes itself by creating a true, interactive platform that combats ‘health illiteracy'-a root cause of rising health care costs, delivering as-needed information to the enrollee, promoting participation through incentives, and providing health plans with the ability to respond quickly to enrollee knowledge needs."
EduNeering's newest knowledge solution uses KnowledgeWire®, the company's robust technology platform used by many leading health plan organizations for corporate compliance, to support a comprehensive education and communication system. The system enables health plans to target enrollee knowledge needs based on medical condition, treatment plan and health plan-specific requirements. Additional services supported by the system are enrollee reminders for prescription refills, doctor's visits and ongoing adherence to treatment regimes. Enrollees are encouraged to participate through a program of incentives linked to the successful completion of learning activities, which is determined by quizzes and tests following each activity.
In addition to the enrollee education component, EduNeering's enrollee education initiative provides health plans with constantly updated information to tailor resources to the needs of each enrollee. The information exchange between health plan and enrollee complies with all regulatory requirements for patient privacy and confidentiality and data security.
"Unlike other efforts, our new knowledge solution extends beyond enrollee education to provide health plans with the knowledge they need to best serve the needs of their enrollees for information that is useful, understandable and pertinent," explained Bell. "This cooperative approach to health services breaks new ground, both reinforcing the health plan/enrollee relationship and ensuring that enrollees are empowered to take charge of their health."
